HeartCode® BLS Online is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real-time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties. HeartCode® BLS Online consists of a cognitive portion that is completed online and an in-person skill evaluation.

Who can take this course?

This course is only for Cooper University Health Care Advanced Practice Providers (APP) and Physicians.

 

What Does This Course Teach?

Topics covered in this course are:

  • The Steps of the Chains of Survival
  • How to perform high-quality CPR for an adult, a child, and an infant
  • How to use an AED
  • Effective team dynamics in a multi-rescuer resuscitation
  • How to treat special considerations in basic life support
  • How to relieve foreign-body airway obstruction for an adult, a child, and an infant

 

How Does This Course Work?

 

Once you complete the online heartcode please email CPR@cooperhealth.edu or call 856-342-2009 to schedule your in-person skills verification.

If you do not receive an email within two business days after submitting your online registration request, please contact the Contact Center for Resuscitation Education office at (856) 342-2009.

If your job role at Cooper requires you to have the certification you are registering for, please use the promo codes. If your job role does not require the course or you are not an employee who has completed hospital orientation, do not enter a promo code and pay with a credit card. 

**If you have not completed orientation and been issued a Cooper ID and email address, you must submit payment for the course.**

**Cooper employees are not eligible to attend classes or complete pre-course requirements if on leave from work for any reason**
